KIHBT seeks partnership with Arusha Technical College in Tanzania

In a bid to foster regional Integration, KIHBT Management and the Project Implementation Unit visited National Institute of Transport (NIT), Dar es Salaam institute of Technology (DIT) and the Arusha Technical College (ATC) who are beneficiaries of the EASTRIP project. The objective of the visit was to pursue Cooperation Agreements and or Memoranda of Understanding that will be formalizing possible areas of collaboration such as Staff and Student exchange, Student Internship, Formulation of programs and Joint Research among other areas.

In conjunction with the NIT team, a visit to Dar es Salaam Bus Rapid Transit was conducted to benchmark on the practices as KIHBT is currently working on a developing a Curricula for a Bus Rapid Transit Drivers course in Kenya in collaboration with Nairobi Metropolitan Transport Authority NaMATA, who are mandated to develop and operate the mass transit systems in Nairobi, Kenya.

KIHBT team benchmarked on the best practices in sustainability, e-learning, the various institutes’ centres of excellence, staff exchange programmes, enterprises within the institutes such as DIT company, Institute Consultancy Bureaus, Public relations departments, entrepreneurship centres within the institutes, Management of the institutes, Quality Assurance departments, resource mobilization for equipping of training facilities as well as use of modern equipment in the delivery of training.
